When Opportunity Knocks, Let It In
I’ve been saying for a long time that a problem is nothing more than an opportunity waiting to be taken advantage of. The problem is that as Thomas Edison once said, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”
It doesn’t have to be work though. If you keep your eyes open and think creatively, solutions to problems (opportunities) drop into your lap like leaves falling from trees during the fall. Then what? Identify the value produced by a successful outcome of those opportunities, share it using passion and enthusiasm with your other stakeholders and watch the solution implementation ideas flow.
When opportunity knocks on your door, you have to be ready to let it in and take full advantage of the challenge with unbridled optimism and creativity.
